RE-SET
Life can go well, or there can be struggles. Either way, most of us sense a need for something more and have a need to know that our life has meaning and purpose. Thankfully, God has promised us a way. With His help, we can hit the re-set button.
GOD CREATED US

God created us to be in relationship with Him.

Jesus said, “My purpose is to give you life, life as it was meant to be.” John 10:10

 

OUR SIN

We are all born with a sin nature. Because of our sin, we are unable to have a close
relationship with God without forgiveness.

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Romans 3:23 

So, we all need a restart in life.
We don’t have to be a “good enough person” or to do enough “good things”
for Christ to give us a restart in life.

GOD’S GIFT

We can’t earn God’s forgiveness. It must be given. Jesus gave His life as a sacrifice to pay for our sin.

But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 

We can choose to accept God’s free gift of forgiveness and grace.

OUR RESPONSE

We can choose to accept this free gift from
God by committing our lives to Jesus. In doing so, God offers us a RE-SET in our lives.

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him
from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Acts 3:19 

All we need to do is to admit that we have blown it in the past…to ask for forgiveness, and to receive God’s gift of a new life.

Dear God, I know I’ve sinned, I’ve messed up, and I now realize that it has put separation in our relationship. So God, I ask you to forgive me. I gladly accept what Jesus Christ did for me by dying on the cross in my place and being raised from the dead. I ask You to come into my life, to be in charge of my life, and to help me to be the person you intended me to be. I accept Your offer of a re-start in my life. Thank you, Lord, for making a way for me to have a relationship with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
